Paso a paso

Marta.

English version.

Today I'm going to tell you about how I've taking to knitting. For those of you who are thinking about learning... I'd better warn you: it's addictive!

Last week I went to a workshop in a shop called Mummy Crafts where I learnt how to knit a round scarf with two needles. It was a great experience. I finished the scarf in a few hours and learnt the basic techniques of knitting. If you live in Madrid and like crafts I really recommend that you visit this shop. In my case, it's always dangerous to go to these types of shops as I would end up being skint.

In the workshop I knitted a brown scarf for me, but when I showed it to my boyfriend he liked it so much that I decided to give it to him and make another one for myself. So this week, I've made a mustard one for me, as I thought it would be a good color to brighten up winter clothes.

I would like to explain how I made it with a video tutorial, but I have no video camera unfortunately. Although I'm planning to post some video tutorials on the blog soon.

So, I'm going to try to explain in a few words how I made it. It's a tutorial for those of you who already know a bit about knitting.

DIY

Materials

150-200 gr. of wool.
Two needles (I used number 15, but the size of the needles depends on the wool that you use).
A needle to sew wool or a crochet to close the scarf.

Step by step

Cast on 20 stitches. This is going to be the width of the scarf, so if you want it wider you have to cast on more stitches.

Then we have to knit as many rows as we want to. I knitted until I ran out of wool.

To close the scarf in order to make it round we have to sew the two edges with a simple stitch using a bit of the same wool.

And that's it, round scarf finished.

Do you like knitting?

Ah! Almost forgot... next Tuesday we'll continue with the blogger interviews, On this other post you can see the last one. don't miss it!

Xx.

Marta.
